Labor Day Conference Burden

A message from the NorCal coordinating brothers

Dear saints,

We want to fellowship with all of you concerning the burden for the upcoming NorCal Labor Day Conference.

Recently we have been impressed with the need for the churches in NorCal to move together as one Body to carry out the Lord's purpose. We need to be refreshed in our vision of the Lord's recovery and the practical way to carry out this vision for the organic building up of the Body of Christ. This is our commission from the Lord.  We want the churches to go on with a clear goal and direction, not in a wandering or routine way.

For this reason we intend this conference to include the "blowing of the trumpet" for the direction of all the churches in NorCal for the next 12 months. It will not merely be a conference to minister the supply through the Word, although there will certainly be a rich supply.  We want to present the vision of the Lord's recovery and the goal of the Lord's recovery so we will all be clear what we are doing here and where we are going.

Then we want to present some steps we feel all the churches should take to reach that goal - PSRP (Pray-reading, Studying, Reciting, and Prophesying) and BNPB (Begetting, Nourishing, Perfecting, and Building) focusing on small groups - the inflow and the outflow.  We are a big family, with new ones, young ones, middle aged ones, and older ones.

We hope we can all attend so we can all hear the same trumpet to labor and move as one.

Labor Day Conference

Northern California Churches Blending Conference - Labor Day

We will gather together again this Labor Day weekend (August 29-31, 2025) in Burlingame, California, for the Northern California Churches Blending Conference. We are fully expecting the Lord’s outpoured blessing on this gathering. We encourage all who can to attend the conference in-person in order to participate fully in the conference. Ephesians 4:16 shows us that “the operation in the measure of each one part, causes the growth of the Body unto the building up of itself in love.” Additionally, we would like to strongly encourage the saints, even those living in the immediate Bay Area, to consider staying in the hotel to further promote the blending of the Body together.

We are asking the churches to use the HWMR Chapters 5 Through 8 of Romans--The Kernel of the Bible (from the ICSC). Each meeting of the conference will have two sections.  The first hour will be for prophesying by the saints in the NorCal subregions from the ICSC messages.  The second hour will be used to present several topics related to our going on together in the Lord's move. Both sections are described below in more detail.

During the first hour, an assigned brother will speak a short introduction for 5 minutes, and then a selected subregion (see lists below) will have an opportunity for 25 saints to prophesy for a total of 40 minutes. Each saint will be given 1.5 minutes to speak. Then an assigned brother will give a concluding word for 10 minutes. The assignments of subregions is as follows:

All languages

·  Meeting One         South Bay, (HWMR Week 1)

·  Meeting Two          East Bay [includes Pleasant Hill]  (HWMR Week 2)

·  Meeting Three       North Bay, Central Valley (HWMR Week 3)

·  Meeting Four         Summary Fellowship

During the second hour for each meeting, there will be sharing about a particular topic related to our overall burden of entering into the practical church life by following the ministry closely. On Friday night, we plan to refresh our vision of the Lord’s recovery and the way to carry it out by entering into the truth. On Saturday morning, we plan to cover constitution of the truth by exercising to practice PSRP in an up-to-date and more living manner. On Saturday night, we will address the practical caring for people through the exercise of small groups in the church life, following the pattern of BNPB (Bearing Fruit--Nourishing—Perfecting—Building). On the Lord’s Day, there will be a summary of many of these topics with an overview of our direction for the Northern California churches in the coming year.

Picnic at coyote park

Labor Day Conference Blending Picnic at Coyote Park

On Saturday, August 30th, 2025 at 1:00 PM (during the upcoming Labor Day Conference in Burlingame, CA), we will have a special time of informal blending for all the saints in NorCal by having a lunchtime picnic in Coyote Point Park, located at 1701 Coyote Point Dr, San Mateo, CA 94401.

The churches in Pleasant Hill and Davis will be hosting the saints from the churches in Stockton and Modesto. Please make plans now to attend the picnic (the registration link is below). Some of us should arrive at the park a bit early to save a group of tables that are close together. This will allow us to blend and warmly welcome the saints from Stockton and Modesto.

We are asking that you click this link and indicate your intention to attend this blending time in the park and also indicate if you, or anyone from your party, requires a vegetarian option.  Importantly, we are asking that this be completed by Monday, August 18th so that there is adequate time for food preparations. The intention is that we will order enough of each type of food for the event but will not earmark each order for a particular saint.

This park is very close to the Burlingame Hyatt—where the Labor Day Conference is being held—and has open spaces for children to play, picnic tables and play structures.  Please note that if you are attending the picnic, we encourage saints to carpool since there is an entry fee of $6.00 per car.  This will also help ensure adequate parking is available for all to attend.  We also plan on staggering the dismissal from the conference by region (East Bay, North Bay, South Bay), to minimize the build up of cars at the park gate.

Scheduled Saturdays 10:00-12:00

Fellowship on the Small Groups with Brother Minoru

Next sessions:

  • 8/23/25
  • 9/20/25
  • 10/11/25

The lessons on shepherding over the last several years have truly been a blessing to the churches, and our brother's feeling is to make a turn and even an advancement to build on those lessons in a new series in which he will cover the many aspects of the small groups. We are full of rejoicing that the Lord will continue to shepherd and perfect the saints in Northern California through these fellowship times with brother Minoru.

The format will be similar and will be on Zoom from 10 am - 12 pm approximately once a month.

Outlines cannot be distributed electronically. Printed copies will be available on the front porch of the meeting hall by noon on the Thursday before each scheduled Saturday meeting.

"The big meetings can attract the people, but only the small meetings can build people up. Our present need is to find a way to improve the small meetings so that they will become rich, strong, fresh, living, attractive, and able to uphold all the saints. The small meetings are the foundation of the building of the church; this is an unshakable law. If we do not keep this law, we will not have any building. It is easy to gather materials, but it is not easy to build them together. In Christianity we only see the gathering in of the material; we do not see the building. However, we ourselves have made the same mistake. For this reason, we all must have a change. We all need to be balanced. It does not mean that we do not need to go out and gather people in. It only means that we should not gather at the expense of sacrificing the building."

(The Living Needed for Building Up the Small Group Meetings, Ch 1, CWWL, 1985, vol. 3, pp 11-16)

Truth Pursuit

We thank the Lord for leading the East Bay Churches in pursuing "the up-to-date truth" according to the ministry of the age in a definite way since February of last year. We are endeavoring to take the way of constitution by practicing Pray-Reading, Studying, Reciting and Prophesying (PSRP):

  • Pray-Reading (P) is to exercise our spirit to touch the living Word in the written Word and have the divine reality, the processed Triune God as the applied word, infused into our being.
  • Studying (S) is to exercise our mind of the spirit for the truth to get into us through our mentality, our understanding.
  • Reciting (R) is to retain the understanding through the shining of the truth for constant and long-term nourishment. To practice in this way, we will have an accumulation of the truth and become persons continually under constant nourishment.
  • After PSR, we will then be able to prophesy (P) and know how to present the truth to others, not merely to inspire them or to stir them up but to make them solid and constituted with the truth.

We will pursue and practice together every Saturday. For this coming year, may the Lord "Teach us then to number our days/ That we may gain a heart of wisdom" to redeem our Saturday mornings to buy the truth. The Zoom link will be emailed prior to each meeting.
